The book makes up for its lack of opinion by providing a brief overview of the history and politics associated with the dam. The best portions of the book cover the history of how the dam was built in late 19th century when technology was primitive but human brain and labour ruled supreme. If anyone desires to understand the background of the vexing inter-state issue, this book is recommended. Since yours truly is a Tamil working in Kerala, this review also steers clear of any opinion or stand on the Mullaperiyar issue.
