Cinema Eduthu Paar

Image
Name :  Cinema Eduthu Paar Author : S.P.Muthuraman Year of Publication : 2017 Genre : Non-fiction, Cinema, Memoir Rating : **(Two stars out of 5) The veteran director who has done multiple films with the superstar duo of Rajinikanth- Kamalhassan reminisces about his career in a chronological manner. While the book is a breezy read for any Tamil Cinema fan,it also underlines how such directors took the art form of Cinema backward by decades in terms of lack of finesse or progressive ideas. While S.P.Muthuraman is a veteran indeed,we could only wish that such veterans had been visionaries as well.

Name :   90 days  Author : Anirudhya Mitra Year of Publication : 2022 Genre : Non-fiction, History, Crime Rating : ** 1/2(Two and a half stars out of 5) After 30 years, Anirudhya Mitra narrates his experiences as a journalist in India Today covering the drama of the hunt for Rajiv Gandhi's assassins.  The excruciating attention to detail and research are commendable even as the author struggles to condense such thrilling stuff into a cogent and accessible narrative. Full marks to the journalist Anirudhya Mitra but being an author of a book is a much bigger vocation.
